Welcome to Team Swale!

The Nursery (Esk) and Reception (Swale) children learn together as a team in the Early Years Foundation Stage. However, there are some times during the school day in which we learn separately.

Our Day

Every morning we can share what we have been learning with our family members in the classroom before joining in with a group check-in and self-registering on our feelings board.

After check-in we have a Literacy or Mathematical focussed input.  We then choose where we would like to learn, either inside or outside.  We have many challenges in each area, so there is always lots to keep us learning.

Before lunch we all come together to learn our phonics letters and sounds to help us read and write.

After lunch we come together for another focus input, either Literacy or Mathematics and continue with independent challenges inside and out.

At home time we enjoy a story or a song together.

Other Activities

Every term we always try to access cook school, this is where we make a delicious treat to share with our families. Sometimes there will be a small cost to this.

Volunteers

If you can spare any time to come into the setting to help with baking, reading, gardening or even just to spend time with the children learning in the setting please let the school office know!
