Welcome to Key Stage One. Here you will find information about children in Years One and Two.

Our Week

The mornings will consist of a morning Handwriting, Recap, HAG starter followed by a daily check-in.  After this, the children have Phonics, Guided Reading, English and Maths. 

We have additional Maths Basics and Phonics sessions interwoven throughout the afternoons. In addition to this, the children have P.E, Music, Hub Time, Science, Geography, History, Cook School, Spanish, Computing and Art. 

 

Key Stage One children also have time to complete provision based challenges to help develop independence, inquiry and to build on our children’s inquisitive minds.

Tuesday mornings for (Aire and Ouse)

Thursday mornings (For Nidd Yr1)

 

Reading in Team Ouse- We will change your child’s reading book on a Friday. This will be a book that your child has already read in class following the ‘Little Wandle’ Synthetic Systematic Phonics Programme’

Children are expected to read at least 3 times a week. We look at any comments in Reading Records on a Friday.
