After weeks and months of rehearsals, our amazing Young Voices Choir finally had their moment of glory at Sheffield Arena last week.  The choir collaborated with over 5,000 other school children to perform a variety of different songs to an audience of thousands. As we’d expect from such a talented bunch, they performed brilliantly and were an absolute credit to our school.  To those parents who were also able to make the trip to Sheffield, I am sure you were as proud as we were.  A special thanks must go to Miss Schofield for the hours of rehearsals with the children, and to Mrs Danks and Mrs Danbury for supporting the children on the day.  Their feet must have been hurting on the way home as we all saw first hand that they like a boogie too!

To cap a great fortnight for the YV choir, on Thursday this week they are heading to Selby College for the day to use the recording studio and compile a CD of their songs. What an experience that will be!

Miss Scofield has already signed us up for next year’s Young Voices, so watch this space if you’d like your child to be part of the experience.

Over £1000 raised!!

A huge thank you to all children and parents who participated in and supported the sponsored skip before half-term. The children worked exceptionally hard during the run up to the event and certainly did themselves proud on the day!

If your child is in After School Club and you are running late or need to contact a member of the After School Club team, please telephone the School Office between the hours of 3.30 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. on 01757 681334 and choose Option 3.

“I am really impressed with the school so far.  My son is 5 years old and when he started school, he could not hold a pencil.  He is now coming home and writing his name and spelling a lot of the words he is learning at school without any encouragement.  The best thing is the fact that he seems to enjoy it, and it is great to see him grow in confidence.

Mum of one of our 2 year old Tiny Steps children, said the school and its Tiny Steps provision was “a breath of fresh air”.  She said “My son went from not liking being separated from me, to not stopping talking about the school and his friends.  Moving my little boy here has been the best decision I made and I couldn’t praise the school enough.”

“Happy children are learning children,” said another mum, “We are so grateful to the staff and would highly recommend this school.  It has an up-to-date fresh take on education and the children are set to thrive.”
